Number 32 on my “List of Things to do Before I Die” (which I haven't actually published yet) is to see all the movies on the American Film Institutes list of 100 Greatest Movies. I decided that I’d better review that list to determine how many more I need to see. The list is dated 1998 and there are some that I probably WON’T see but there are some I definitely WANT to see.
1. CITIZEN KANE (1941) – my dad wants to see this one too, simply because it’s number one. Will watch it with him.
2. CASABLANCA (1942) – I watched this in 1996 during a VERY hot summer while my parents were in Palm Desert. I was babysitting my youngest brother and his friend and getting very bored of the Olympics. At the time this was one of the most boring movies I had ever seen. I certainly don’t understand why it ranks for cinematic greatness. I should probably watch it again.
3. GODFATHER, THE (1972) – Since this movie is referenced all. the. time. I’d like to see it so I “get” it.
4. GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) – A classic. I love it. I’ve seen it more then once too.

Wow, I've seen 23 of them. Silence of the Lambs is an awesome movie, great acting. Wouldn't recommend the one that came out after it that was the "prequel" (Hannibal) though it was a bit gory and thankfully not on this list.
