Wow. How do I say what I want to say. Let's start with the standard question:
"So, how did it go?"
Excellent! I am so excited. I can already see myself taking on this position and excelling at it. The interview lasted almost two hours and ended with a tour of the office and a stack of literature for me to review before my more formal second interview on Wednesday. I found myself slipping into first person "I, we" in reference to the position, duties and the organization really quickly. My interviewer said "well, I can see that 'this' (she and I and how we got along) seems to be working" and that's when she invited me back. I was very at ease during the whole exchange. Listening, and providing feedback which I think impressed her.
As for the company, it's a very dynamic influential trade oraganization. Non-Profit (I know, I know, I said no NPO's :P) but it is NOT reliant on governement funding, which is truly what I wanted to get away from. This organization is supported by member dues and we ( <-- see?) work for our membership to benefit them. It's very exciting.
I have an extensive list of duties that I will be taking on and while I don't have direct experience with all of them, I am very confident that I can do them incredibly well.
This is a move up for me both responsibility wise and renumeration wise. Plus it's a young, fun team that I'll be part of...and I get a really nice office ;)
Now to ace the second interview!
