Check In

It's lunch time so I thought I'd take a second to check in. I am working out of head office today doing word processing for the General Manager. He has a unique style of updating documents so it's not straight forward typing. There is a lot of going back and forth, cuting and pasting and deciphering his hyroglphics. It's challenging but I enjoy it.

I just got a wonderful surprise. My co-worker brought me a venti chai. This is the person that introduced me to chai in the first place. The one who taught me to drink it "soy-no-water-one-pump-cinnamon" and I usually add "no-foam-extra-hot" to that. Yummy :) It is perfect! (and going down well with my crackers and cheese lunch)

BTW, on the job front, one of the other staff members approached me this morning with a potential job opportunity. On of his friends is looking for an executive assistant and is currently attempting to fill the position internally. She's not having much luck and he is recommending me for the job!!! I forwarded him my resume. Remember, my motto is "It's not what you know, it's who you know" Networking is the key to landing a good job. I'll keep you updated as I learn more.

Regarding the second interview that I'm stil waiting on from the other company, I talked to the placement agency yesterday and they are "feeling positive" about the whole thing. Apparently the guy who interviewed me is crazy busy (which doesn't surprise me) and he knows that I'd prefer a start date of March 6th (the Monday after the contract ends) so we don't think he's in a huge hurry to make it official. The waiting stinks but I'm confident it will happen like its supposed to.
