First slurpee of the year, and Ikea

Today was another beautiful Saturday. After meeting up with a local CMC to get copies of pictures from a retreat we attended together last June (about time!) I headed home. There I picked up my mom and we headed out. My first stop was the 7 Eleven to get my first slushie of the year. Coke and Sprite. It was yummy!

After that we made a few stops including at Costco. Then we dropped our purchase off at home and really hit the road. Our plan was to just drive. Enjoy the scenery and explore a different part of the countryside. Explore we did. For those of you familiar with the area we stayed north of the freeway and south of the river all the way from home to the 152nd street freeway entrance. It took about two hours but it was a lot of fun. We saw many big beautiful homes and lots of rolling pasture land. Some of it even reminded me of Pennsylvania in a way.

By the time we reached 152nd it was still early enough so we decided to go to Ikea. Mom has only been there once and I haven't been there in years. (Janis, I can tell you've been there lately ;)) As is my usual with Ikea, I walked through the whole store, coveted A LOT of things, but left with only a two dollar cd case. Some how when I got there I can always get out and spend less then twenty dollars...I *know* once I have my own place that will change.

We also had dinner there. Quite satisfying and the dessert was yummy. Now I'm eating "LantChips" the Original Scandinavian Syle Potato Chips and drinking a lignonberry soda.

So there, that was my day. Hope your weekend is going well.

I love IKEA! So do the kids. Now they are old enough to go in the play area and I can sit and have a coffee or wonder around for an hour. That'll be one of the first places I go when we get back to Canada!

Sounds like lots of fun.

Guess I should be glad there isn't an Ikea close to me?

I love Ikea! I miss Ikea! I am hearing rumors we will be getting one ... and they are building one over in one of the suburbs of Detroit, it'd be worth the drive :)
Sounds like you had fun!
