ESTJ

Have you ever done the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)? I did it in highschool but of course I can't find the results. I just had a co-worker administer it for me and we reviewed the results yesterday. She gave me some materials on my personality type and I want to share a few snippets because they are so bang on that I think it's funny.

ESTJ - Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging (Extraverted Thinking with Introverted Sensing)

"As an ESTJ, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you deal with things rationally and logically. Your secondary mode is internal, where you take things in via your five senses in a literal, concrete fashion.

ESTJ's live in a world of facts and concrete needs...They honour traditions and laws and have a clar set of standards and beliefs. They expect the same as others and have no patience or understanding of individuals who do not value these systems."

"ESTJ's generally have the following traits: (abridged)
- Natural leaders - they like to be in charge
- Value secuirty and tradition
- Loyal
- Have a clear set of standards and beliefs which they live by
- No patience with incompetence or inefficiency
- Enjoy creating order and structure"

"ESTJs are very enthusiastic people who are driven to fulfill their obligations and duties, especially those towards their families. Their priorities generally put God first, family second, and friends third. They put forth a tremendous amount of effort to meet their obligations and duties, according to their priorities. They are dedicated and committed to their relationships, which they consider to be lifelong and unalterable. They like to be in charge, and may be very controlling of their mates and children. They have high esteem for traditions, instiutions, and expet that their mates and children will support these as well. They have little patience and need for dealing with people who see things very differently from the ESTJ."

"ESTJs usually feel very strongly that they are right and that if everyone else would listen carefully to what the ESTJ has to say, they would understand the way things really are, and the world would be a better place."

"ESTJs enjoy spending time with others socializing, and they are likely to strongly desire that their partners also take part in these social activites. They are expecially interested in any event which is associated with the family, workd or any organization which the ESTJ is part of..."

"Although ESTJ's typically put their family above friends, they do enjoy and value their friendships. They enjoy having fun and spending time with others, especially those who share their interests and pursuits. They are likely to choose to spend free time with friends pursuing some activity or hobby - probably athletic or sports-oriented. They're likely to socialize quiet a bit with their own family members, and with people who belong to the same orgainization or institution as the ESTJ."

Very, very interesting.

I will have to take that one too!! How long does it take?

Interestingly enough, a couple of co-workers and I were talking about the BM test a couple of weeks ago. I took an on-line test (could very well be what Veronica posted) and ended up being ESFJ.
Most of my friends are ISTJ's and most engineers are ISTJ's.
So cool that you bogged about it - I had planned on it for a future entry.....
